Your current IT system probably already has all the hardware components required.

The Offline Option

We have an Offline option for clients who do not have the ability to run the required IT set up for terminal services or a Virtual Private Network (VPN). We provide a secure location on a server based in Australia for you to upload all working papers and files to. We use FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and the system is very secure and easy to use.

The Online Option

Connectivity with your practice is achieved through a Terminal Services connection (if you have Windows Small Business Server) or a Remote Connection (if you don’t have Windows Small Business Server but have a spare PC). Ideally you need a minimum of 1 MB download and 512 upload capacity (ADSL or ADSL 2 is suitable). We can check your internet connection and IT configuration to check it is suitable.

This option is ideal and means your BOSS accountant works directly on your files and working papers reducing the admin load at your end and some clients prefer the peace of mind that files do not have to leave their office (providing the IT system and internet connection is good enough).

Software Applications

We use your accounting software on your server and work with your system.

We have experience with:

  • Solution 6 (MYOB AE)
  • MYOB AO
  • Sage HandiSoft
  • BGL Simple Fund
  • Quick Books
  • Quicken
  • MYOB AccountRight
  • Reckon Elite
  • Cashflow Manager
  • APS
  • Xero
  • And we can easily up-skill to any software not listed

Scanners and DMS

You may need to invest in high-speed scanning equipment which can save hours of charge out time and has the added benefit of creating a paperless office. Additionally, there are a multitude of Document Management Systems (DMS) to consider in transitioning your practice to a paperless office.

Skype

You can converse directly with your BOSS accountant, reviewer and manager . Skype is recommended for verbal or Instant Messaging communication with your accountant (it’s free). Of course contact through normal phone and email is available. There is a time difference between India and Australia (between 4 and 7 hours if you are based in NSW, VIC and TAS depending on the time of year – this is less if you are in QLD, WA, SA or NT).
